'A Path to Recovery'
New reports show that the hedgehog (Erinaceinae) has declined by 50% since the year 2000, and now it is suggested there is an estimated population of only 1 million left in the UK. Since starting this portfolio, I could not remember the last time I saw a hedgehog in the wild, making me realise how much they are in decline. Therefore, it’s important for me to show the importance of conservation for one of the UK’s most loved mammals. Prickles and Paws is my local hedgehog rescue centre, which operates daily rehabilitating this loved animal. I hope my portfolio helps people understand the effort and processes that the rescue centre takes in order to conserve this species.
